Smackgrundet is an official nude beach. The beach is located in the delta of the Indalsälven river in the Timrå municipality.
Leave E4 at the Midlanda Airport and the "Y" approximately 15 km north of Sundsvall. If you come from the north, turn lft immediately after the exit and pass under the E4.
After some 10 meter you will see the suspended bridge on your left.
Park your car and take a look at the map posted at the bridge.
Follow the wide path to the nature resort. The walk is about 1500 meters and will take you over two suspended bridges.
The nature is beautiful and it is an easy walk. It is also possible to use a bicycle.
When you arrive at the beach where the boardwalk ends, you may either turn left across and past the textile beach to the nude beach or follow the path through the forest. A sign will inform you when you have arrived.
It may at times be a little disturbing with clothed people strolling across the nude beach.
The beach is several km long. The water is clear and is deepening slowly. It is shallow even quite far out. Mostly there will be some timber and other things that has drifted ashore. However, you will have no problem finding a place for your blanket or mattress. The sun is very dependent at this part of the coast.
The beach is part of a nature sanctuary
It is forbidden to:
- disturb animal life
- bring pets
- drive motorized vehicles
- start a fire outside the posted fireplaces
- make any damage to nature including dead trees
